With all the fantastic events that we have going on during JDAAIM, New England Yachad wants to highlight the amazing activities and programs that are offered year-round. New England Yachad offers weekly and monthly series of programs that are open to members of all ages and relate to different passions and objectives. Below is a list of some of New England Yachad’s most popular activities and series.

Pizza and Parsha

Meeting weekly in Brookline and monthly in South Boston, Providence and the North Shore, this program offers individuals an opportunity to socialize, learn informally and enjoy some pizza with peers. All backgrounds are welcome.

An advocacy group for young adults with and without disabilities ages 13-35 works at raising awareness on the rights of people with disabilities to be fully included in society and to strengthen young activists’ leadership skills and influence in promoting inclusion and social justice. This group meets weekly.

Self-Advocacy Skills Workshop 

This series meets bimonthly for adults with disabilities ages 18-plus. Participants should expect a fun and supportive group focused on learning and practicing self-advocacy skills.

Bowling

Bowling leagues are available in Boston, the North Shore and the South Shore. In Boston, the league meets weekly for individuals 35-plus. There are two North Shore groups that meet monthly, one for ages 16 and under and one for individuals ages 16-plus.

Gesher

Gesher is a social and informal education program for adults ages 18-plus with disabilities and includes fun activities, Jewish holiday celebrations, crafts, cooking and community outings. This group meets monthly in Sharon.

Art Appreciation

Art Appreciation meets Tuesdays and Thursdays for people ages 35-plus and includes exploration of painting, weaving, art history, drawing, crafts and more. Participants are encouraged to learn new things and express themselves creatively in a safe and supportive environment.

Rayim at Reyim

Rayim at Reyim is a lounge night that meets monthly on Sunday nights for individuals with disabilities ages 25-plus.

Yachad Young Adult (YAYA) Social Group

YAYA is a monthly young adult social group with a fun, inclusive environment for individuals 16-25 years old. Participants will hang out with friends and make new friends while enjoying activities like game shows, scavenger hunts, art projects and more.
