Boston is thrilled to host the first U.S. expansion of Ark Adventures, created by the K’ilu Company of Illinois. Founder Jonathan Shmidt Chapman, an award-winning Jewish educator and pioneer in immersive theater, is bringing this imaginative approach to Jewish early childhood education and temple life.

Ark Adventures invites children (age 0-5) and their families to climb aboard an imaginary ark for an unforgettable Shabbat adventure. Guided by artist-educators and musicians trained in sensory theater, families will explore Shabbat through puppetry, original and traditional music, and hands-on play, transforming “Tot Shabbat” into an immersive, joy-filled celebration.

Ark Adventures launches this November with funding from CJP and The Covenant Foundation, in partnership with Temple Isaiah of Lexington and Temple Shalom of Newton. Siblings and grownups are encouraged and welcome!

Why join us? Beyond celebrating Shabbat, children will:

  • Strengthen attention and focus through guided play
  • Build language and literacy skills (in English and Hebrew)
  • Grow empathy and emotional awareness through character interaction
  • Practice social skills while engaging with peers, adults, and the crew

Space is limited! Join us this fall and winter for an enchanting family experience.
