Refugee Immigration Ministry Annual Concert

April 20, 2016 Malden $10.00 - $15.00

Koleinu, Boston’s Jewish Community Chorus will join three other culturally distinct music ensembles for a uniquely international concert, sponsored by Refugee Immigration Ministry and celebrating their 30th anniversary.  The concert will include performances from Indian Gospel Melodies; the Noor Islamic Ensemble with Abdou Adam; the New England Sikh Study Circle; and Koleinu.

Refugee Immigration Ministry (RIM), a faith-based organization founded in 1986, provides community-based support to individuals and families who have been uprooted by violence. This concert, bringing together performers and audience in a shared musical and cultural evening, marks their important work for 30 years in the Boston area. Funds from ticket sales support RIM’s mission of “building community with uprooted people to serve the common good.”

Koleinu, Boston’s Jewish Community Chorus, led by artistic director Carol Marton, will further its goal of connecting to other cultures through music by contributing a selection of Jewish choral works to the evening, including modern settings of Adonai Ro’i by Judith Shatin and Shalom Aleichem by Noah Aronson.

Tickets for the April 20 program may be purchased on-line: www.r-i-m.net or by calling or emailing Ruth Bersin at RIM, 781-322-1011; ruth.rim@verizon.net
