Under the artistic leadership of Joshua Jacobson, Zamir continues its exploration of the beauty and variety of musical settings of the biblical Psalms. Featuring the 55-voice chorale with symphonic orchestra, awePsalm includes music that is meditative and exciting: compositions by Jews and Christians, such as Salamone Rossi, Felix Mendelssohn, Claude Debussy, Charles Ives, Leonard Bernstein, Benjie Ellen Schiller, Jeremiah Klarman, Simon Sargon, Emmett Price and Karl Jenkins, as well as a new work composed just for this concert by Zamir’s honoree and outgoing board chair, Robert Snyder.
