Dr. Jacqueline Vayntrub will present “Between Two Worlds: Hebrew Poets in Muslim Spain” during Qabbalat Shabbat on Friday, February 12, at 6:00 p.m.

Dr. Jacqueline Vayntrub, a scholar of ancient Hebrew and Semitic literature, brings a fresh perspective of the literary achievements of Jews in Muslim Spain, exploring how these philosopher-poets recovered and reshaped the poetic traditions of the Hebrew Bible. Dr. Vayntrub received her PhD from the University of Chicago and is currently a postdoctoral fellow at Harvard University. Dr. Vayntrub lectures nationally and internationally, most recently at the University of Naples, Federico II and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
