Raising a child with a disability can be incredibly rewarding—but it also comes with unique challenges. Many mothers and caregivers experience significant emotional, physical, and financial stress, along with higher rates of isolation, as they deal with navigating complex systems.

But you don’t have to do this alone. This year, Gateways is launching a parenting support series specifically for mothers and caregivers of children with disabilities (read more about the series and its other events here).

Starting in September, we’ll offer a bimonthly virtual support group for caregivers of children with disabilities from the Boston-area Jewish day school community. Join us to connect with other local moms in an affirming, judgment-free space, facilitated by an experienced mental health clinician. With an emphasis on relationship-building and shared learning, these sessions will give you an opportunity to:

  • Share your experiences
  • Offer mutual support and resources
  • Find strength and connection through community

Select “Register” to sign up for one or more sessions in the Empowering Caregivers series.

We’re able to offer this series free of charge thanks to the generosity of The Miriam Fund of CJP. The Miriam Fund (TMF) is a volunteer-led philanthropic community committed to creating an equitable world that expands opportunities for women and girls. While this series is primarily geared toward mothers, any Boston-area Jewish day school caregiver of a child with a disability is invited to attend!
