This talk will discuss the Soviet Jewish Experience during the Holocaust and the contention between the post-war memories of survivors, the Soviet political agenda and historical records of the horrific events. Learning about all aspect of this human tragedy is critical in understanding Jewish historical context as well as the state of Jewry in the contemporary space of the former Soviet Union.
Presented by Daniel Newman, initiative for the Study of the Holocaust in the Soviet Union at the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Center for Advanced Holocaust Studies at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum.
