Human Evolution and Ashkenazi Genetics

February 2, 2014 Brookline 0

DNA can tell us much about where we came from and who we are.  Human DNA tells much about how humans evolved and how we humans ended up in different parts of the world.  Jewish genetics is particularly interesting, given the fact that we are highly inbred and our genes have relatively little contributions from the people among whom we have lived for the past two thousand years.  We will carry significant traces of our Middle East origins and more than our share of interesting genetic disease genes.  Temple Sinai member  Dr.  Bob Weinberg received his PhD from MIT and has held research positions at the Weizmann Institute and the Salk Institute.  The community is invited to join us.
