Shir Tikvah will host members of the The Islamic Center of Boston – Wayland and other local Muslim residents for a program of music of our respective traditions. Mosque members will perform classical music of the Indian Muslim community and our own Cantor Beth Levin will perform an eclectic selection of Jewish music.
In the Indian Muslim community, instrumentalists and the audience all sit on the floor, so audience members who wish to do likewise may wish to bring cushions to sit on. Plenty of chairs will also be available.
This event is free of charge, and all age groups are welcome. Following the performances, Shir Tikvah members and our guests will share hors d’oeuvres and desserts representing our family traditions at a social hour in the oneg room. Please contribute an hors d’oeuvres or dessert (no meat/shellfish) representing your own family traditions.
