Tzedek Salons bring young Jews, in their 20-30s, together with social activists, policy-makers, attorneys and academics for casual conversations to explore cutting-edge issues facing our society and state today.

This month, we will speak with Eric Shupin, director of public policy for Citizens’ Housing and Planning Association (CHAPA). As we enter a new legislative cycle, one of the most impactful ways we can fight for equity is by utilizing the power we each have as constituents in our local and state governments to advocate for changes in Massachusetts law.

Drawing from his extensive experience as an affordable housing advocate in Massachusetts, Eric will talk about how to effectively advocate for policies that advance social justice in the Massachusetts State House. Eric will share stories of successful constituent advocacy and tools to help us advocate strategically in 2019.

This salon is great for those who are new to advocacy and those with advocacy experience; we welcome all questions and stories.

Space is wheelchair accessible and light refreshments will be served. For accessibility and all other questions, please contact kaila@jalsa.org.
