LimmudBoston invites the community to experience a session from the very first Limmud Haifa conference, which will be simulcast, in English, from Israel on Tuesday, November 18 at 9:30am EST. David Gurevich, a visiting professor from the University of Haifa, will facilitate a conversation about the presentation after the broadcast at Congregation Mishkan Tefila in Chestnut Hill.
The session, “The Talmud and the City,” about the planning of Jerusalem through a lens of Talmud, will be presented by architect and urban planner Roy Lavee, along with Moshe Lavee, a University of Haifa professor in Talmud and Midrash. They will share new insights and the process through which the Talmud became a source for inspiration in considering planning Jerusalem. David Gurevich, a Fulbright scholar at Harvard, is the founder of the Ambassadors Online academic program at the University of Haifa.
Professor Gurevich will also present at the upcoming, day long LimmudBoston conference which will be held on Sunday, December 7th, also at Mishkan Tefila. (www.LimmudBoston.org)
