Martin Bodek is the author of 14 books, including seven parody haggadahs. He will discuss the prehistory of the haggadah, its development, and where the industry stands today. He will also share the origin stories of each of his seven haggadot, with a primary focus on his most popular version, The Emoji Haggadah.

Hiding in Plain Sight: Finding Wisdom in Unexpected Places
Biography: Rabbi Barbara Penzner served Temple Hillel B’nai Torah from 1995 until 2023, when she became Rabbi Emerita. She is currently Interim Executive Director of the Reconstructionist Rabbinical Association. She is among the founders of Mayyim Hayyim, co-chaired the New England Jewish Labor Committee, and served as president of the Massachusetts Board of Rabbis and the RRA.
Reb Moshe Waldoks
What’s Kabbalah? Myths and Truths About Kabbalah
Reb Moshe will present a short history of Kabbalah and its impact on Jewish life. Participants will be introduced to the “Tree of Life,” the Kabbalistic “Big Bang Theory,” major Kabbalistic teachers and their descendants, and more. There will be time for questions and comments.
Biography: Reb Moshe is Rabbi Emeritus of TBZ, Temple Beth Zion, an independent congregation in Brookline, Massachusetts. He earned his doctorate in Jewish intellectual history at Brandeis University and was ordained as a non-denominational rabbi by Rabbis Zalman Schachter and Everett Gendler, of blessed memory, and Rabbi Arthur Green. Reb Moshe was one of the founders of the Tibetan-Jewish dialogue and is co-editor of The Big Book of Jewish Humor.
