NEWTON, MA – Center Makor, the cultural center that recently moved to 1320 Centre Street in Newton, is hosting a series of live interviews with Jewish authors that will be hosted by Matt Robinson, star of the nationally syndicated talk show, “The Writer’s Block.”
The series will launch on November 13 at 7 PM with New England Championship Wrestling promoter and former theatrical producer and impresario Sheldon Goldberg, who has written four books about the world of wrestling in the past three years and is well on his way to publishing a fifth.
“Center Makor is very excited to hold and start this new series,” says Center Director Vladimir Foygelman. “We are looking forward to seeing people who love to read and to support local authors, poets, and journalists.”
The evening will consist of a live interview with the author conducted by Robinson that will be followed by a question-and-answer session and book signing.
The Last Fall, After The Bell, and The Family Business take readers deep inside the business of professional wrestling through the life and career of Rick Pacheco who stumbles into the sport at the age of 11 and rises through the radically changing ranks.
A Mad Dog’s Tale, a spin-off of After The Bell, chronicles the life and experiences of Michael “Mad Dog” Morrison, detailing his upbringing in a well-to-do Jewish family, his wrestling career, and his struggle to balance his athletic ambitions and family life with a major role in his family’s diverse business empire.
Free parking is available at Center Makor on the side of the building and in the back. Admission to this event is free. A donation to Center Makor is suggested.
Center Makor, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established in 2005 as a vibrant secular, communal institution. Its mission is to foster community integration, cultural exchange, and mutual understanding among diverse ethnic communities in Greater Boston and beyond.
