“The Club,” a much-watched Netflix series woven around the story of an Istanbulite Jewish woman, Matilda, and her estranged daughter, Raşel, has been the topic of many conversations in the last few weeks. Come and join us as we talk about power, hierarchy and community in “The Club.”

Dr. Esra Özdemir of Brown University, Dr. Pelin Başçı of Portland State University and Dr. Roberta Micallef of Boston University will discuss the use of Ladino and the approach to gender in “The Club.” Dr. Sultan Doughan will moderate this event.
