“Pick of the Litter” (Promotional still)

“Pick of the Litter” follows a litter of puppies from the first moment they are born and immediately begin their quest to become guide dogs for the blind—the ultimate canine career. Cameras follow these pups through a two-year odyssey with their trainers (and multiple caregivers) as they train to become dogs whose ultimate responsibility is to protect their blind partners from harm by performing life-changing acts.

In English with open captions.

Discussion to follow with Patrick Downes, Jessica Kensky and Rescue (the dog!), and Curry College student Bella Scott with her guide dog, O’Hara.

Co-presented with NEADS World Class Service Dogs.
