This heartwarming and hilarious romantic comedy, inspired by director Jonah Feingold’s own experiences, centers on Leo Kadner, a 30-year-old New Yorker who unexpectedly decides to have his long-overdue bar mitzvah after a chance encounter with his former summer camp crush, Eva Shapiro. As Leo navigates the ups and downs of growing up—situationships, exes, and the quirks of family—he embarks on a mitzvah project that just might help him finally mature. This charming film delves into themes of tradition, identity, and the lengths one will go to for a second chance at love.
Followed by a conversation with writer/director/actor Jonah Feingold and producer Jonah Weinstein, moderated by BJF artistic director Joey Katz.
