The interactive family service is an educational, family-oriented program for young families. The Rosh Hashanah family service is a meaningful one-hour structured service that will engage your children, leaving them motivated and inspired.

  • A first prayer experience with Rabbi Avi. The prayers will be conducted in both Hebrew and English, with simultaneous insights and explanations into the practices, prayers and rituals. Easy-to-follow Machzor with transliteration will be used during the service.
  • Singing and storytelling. Alex Cores, renowned storyteller, will share with us a Rosh Hashanah story and teach us some new songs and Rosh Hashanah prayers.
  • Rosh Hashanah snacks. We will discuss the meaning behind the different foods we eat on Rosh Hashanah and enjoy the snacks together. Snacks include apples dipped in honey, round challah, Rosh Hashanah fruit and honey cake. (Gluten-free options available.)
  • Hear the shofar blown. Rabbi Avi will share with us the important meaning behind the sound of a shofar before we listen to the cry of the shofar.

This service is free for children of all ages. We ask that you RSVP to luna@jewishab.com so that we can ensure enough space and adequately prepare.
