Join Kahal B’raira for meaningful and uplifting High Holiday services. Kahal B’raira’s non-theistic liturgy is rooted in Jewish tradition, and draws on our Humanistic beliefs that each of us has a responsibility to ourselves and our community to build a better world. Together we will reflect on the past year, draw inspiration from each other, and celebrate the year to come!

Services include songs, responsive readings, a member reflections on the themes of the holiday, and the shofar. Kahal B’raira’s liturgy is mostly in English, with some songs and blessings in Hebrew. All Hebrew is transliterated, and customs are explained.

Kol Nidre Service – Sunday, 9/20, 7:30-9 p.m.
The Kol Nidre service includes a memorial section, where we will honor the memory of departed loved ones by sharing their names.

Morning Service – Monday, 9/21, 10-11:15 a.m.
Our morning services are popular among families with young kids. During morning services, teens from our community deliver the sermon. By featuring teens, we aim to show younger children a pathway for involvement in Jewish community, give adults the opportunity to hear from a new generation, and give youth a voice in shaping our community’s values.

Midday Service – Monday, 9/21, 12-1:30 p.m.
The midday service includes small group discussions based on the member reflection, and is a wonderful opportunity to connect with other people.

Closing Service (Zoom only) – Monday, 9/21, 5-5:20 p.m.
This short and sweet service will take place on Zoom, concluding with blessings over the wine and challah.

Services take place at First Parish UU, Arlington, and on Zoom.
