Shabbat Service followed by dinner.  There is a charge for dinner. RSVP here: https://bethavodah.payquiq.com/index.cfm?event=forms&contentid=585EC779-99E4-4C43-A2FACF617A2C3B03

On Friday night, Rabbi Ellenson will give a lecture after dinner on trends in American Jewish life: the good, the bad, the scary. He will share his vantage point from several of his own past perspectives up to his current view from the top of the hill at Brandeis. Rabbi Ellenson’s manner is gentle and very thoughtful. He is a visionary, as Rabbi Stern says, one of the smartest and most erudite Jewish scholars of his – or any other generation. Rabbi Stern was lucky enough to be in Rabbi Ellenson’s first classes at HUC. They have remained friends ever since.

David Ellenson is Director of the Schusterman Center for Israel Studies and Visiting Professor in the Department of Near Eastern and Judaic Studies at Brandeis University.
