Seniors Connect in Downtown Boston

September 21, 2015 Boston

Vilna Shul, Boston’s Center for Jewish Culture

Description*

Join other active seniors downtown at the Vilna Shul, Boston’s Center for Jewish Culture for our monthly seniors meet-up. The Vilna is a bustling cultural center on Beacon Hill housed within the city’s only surviving immigrant-era synagogue building. Come for the program and stay for a tour. Accessible on all MBTA lines. Seniors Connect is a casual, relaxed gathering with a set topic and presenter, both of which are different every time. Please join us in this special place!

This month’s topic: How Immigrant Jews Adapted to American Culture– Did Your Ancestors? A lively discussion of comparative adaptations will be led by historian and genealogist Carol Clingan. Her interest in Jewish genealogy has informed her other interest, the lives of our immigrant forebearers. If you ask, she may share some of her own genealogy research over 20 years. She is currently head of Research Projects for the Jewish Genealogy Society and a board member of the Vilna.
