It is customary to celebrate Shabbat Shira, the Shabbat when we read the “Song of the Sea” upon leaving Egypt and crossing the Red Sea, with poetry and song. Join us for a poetry read, some singing, and a light se’udah shlishit (third meal). Bring a poem or two, and any favorite poetry books. Any poetry is fair game, but if you are looking for inspiration, Tu b’Shvat (Rosh Hashana for the trees) is that week, and a nature theme is welcomed.
