Shabbat 101

November 12, 2014

Temple Beth Elohim is excited to pilot an Interfaith Family Initiative with support from the Sherry and Alan Leventhal Family Foundation. Throughout the year, they invite you to join us for programmatic and spiritual opportunities designed to guide interfaith families in nurturing a positive connection to Jewish life. It is their goal that TBE interfaith family programs and gatherings will provide the opportunity for you to feel comfortable discussing particular challenges, joys, or experiences common to interfaith families. By learning, connecting, and acting upon our common values, they hope to create a strong sense of belonging for interfaith families who seek to build community at TBE.

Make Shabbat more attainable and meaningful for your family! Together, we will discuss the order of prayers and how to explain them in a meaningful way to children, explore how to celebrate Shabbat in a way that is easy and special for your family, and learn how to make and braid a delicious six-braid challah. Discussion led by Rabbi Rachel Saphire and challah making led by Michelle Black.

Event Location: Temple Beth Elohim
