Nusach is a system of prescribed scales and melodic patterns sung by the prayer leader to be sure that daily services sound different from Sabbath services, etc. Folks knowledgeable with nusach can walk into any Jewish prayer service and identify the service just by its musical motifs.

This three-part class will focus on the nusach (special tunes and rhythms) of three different Shabbat services: Kabbalat Shabbat, Friday night Ma’ariv and Shabbat Mincha. Come learn all three or join just for the service you would like to learn.
