On Shabbat Shirah, we celebrate a very special moment in the Torah, a very musical moment in Jewish biblical history. The Torah reading, Parasha Beshalach, contains the “Song of the Sea” (Exodus 15:1–18). This was sung by the children of Israel after the passage of the Red Sea. The Haftarah includes the “Song of Deborah.”
