The Annisquam Village Church and Temple Ahavat Achim will host a benefit concert for Science Training Encouraging Peace (STEP).
For the last 12 years, STEP has been bringing together and supporting Israeli and Palestinian health and environmental graduate students from across borders and cultural divides, creating a more peaceful future, one partnership at a time.
To raise funds for STEP, this celebratory concert will feature an esteemed roster of musicians, ranging in style and background, including Jewish and Arab musicians. Some names to look forward to include Temple Ahavat Achim’s music director Abigale Reisman; Palestinian pianist Akram Haddad; and violinist and composer Scott Moore. The choirs of Temple Ahavat Achim and the Annisquam Village Church will also perform.
STEP’s mission is to establish and foster enduring relationships between Israelis and Palestinians, with the knowledge that these connections have a multiplier effect for peace and progress.
By funding stipends for pairs of Palestinian and Israeli graduate science students (one Israeli and one Palestinian from the West Bank or Gaza per pair), STEP is the catalyst for the next generation of leaders to create the world they want to see, together.
This is the time, as it may feel as if the world is pushing us further apart as humans, to come together and see one another as just that—human.
