Happily Ever After: The Messianic Concept In Judaism” Rabbi Norbert Weinberg will lead us in studying biblical sources to find the earliest references to the concept of Messianism. Examples will include the reference to “the end of days” by our forefather Jacob right before his death as well as allusions to the afterlife in the works of the Prophets and the writings of Maimonides. We will discuss the danger of false messiahs such as Bar Kochba and Shabbtai Tzvi. Finally, we will learn why the Garden of Eden was not destroyed and explore the concept that the Holy Temple will be rebuilt in the time of the Messiah as well as whether animal sacrifices will be resumed and what form the services will take.
