The Nazi occupation of Tunisia strains the bonds of friendship between a Muslim woman and a Sephardic Jewish woman who are both preparing for their marriages.

The film immerses us in a women’s environment. Jewish teenager Myriam is abetting her Muslim friend Nour’s love for a young man she’s forbidden to marry until he finds work. Meanwhile, the Germans demand that Tunis’ Jews pay an outrageously high “fine,” which Myriam’s mother can’t afford.

Light refreshments will be served.

*While the film is unrated, its content is equivalent to an R rating for sex, nudity and mature themes.
