The annual dinner is our largest community and fundraising event of the year, where we celebrate Rashi’s commitment to academic excellence, social justice and integrated Jewish education. The Rashi School will honor Michelle and Darren Black, Rashi parents of Evan ’16, Emily ’20, Scott ’20 and Alex ’22 with the Kehillah (community) Award.

Over the years, the event has evolved into an annual celebration of Rashi and its impact on our community. The Rashi core value of Kehillah has been demonstrated by Michelle and Darren’s commitment to Rashi and to the larger Jewish community.

We will also recognize Rashi alumna Clara Scheinmann ’04 with the 2022 Tikkun Alum award. The award was created in 2012 to celebrate Rashi alumni who demonstrate a strong commitment to social justice and tikkun olam (repairing the world) in their lives beyond Rashi. Through personal and professional efforts, Tikkun Alums embody the values of social justice that were instilled in them as Rashi students.
