What will American Jewish life look like in 2050? Will our communities be thriving, fragmented, transformed, or something we haven’t yet imagined? The Tzomet Games is a one-of-a kind strategic foresight experience that puts these questions in your hands.
Developed using serious gaming methods drawn from military, policy, and business strategy, the Tzomet Games invites participants to explore vivid future scenarios for the American Jewish community, written by bestselling author Dara Horn, and collaboratively build timelines tracing how we might get there. Working in small teams, you’ll navigate themes like politics, technology, demographics, culture, education, and conflict, placing key decisions and events along a 25-year arc from now to 2050.
This is a hands-on, dynamic experience where your ideas, expertise, and creativity shape the outcome. Through multiple rounds of collaborative play, you’ll wrestle with the forces we can control and those we can’t, discover where the Jewish community has real agency, and leave with a sharper sense of the strategic choices facing our generation.
What to Expect: You’ll play through multiple game sessions in rotating small groups, each exploring a different scenario for 2050. Every round introduces new themes and challenges that push your timeline in unexpected directions. No prior experience is needed. Just curiosity, creativity, and a willingness to think big about where we’re headed.
Why It’s Different: The Tzomet Games functions like a “flight simulator” for Jewish leadership: a safe space to test strategies, surface blind spots, and practice responding to future challenges before they arrive. It brings together diverse perspectives in a collaborative (not competitive) format, and the insights generated contribute to a growing body of strategic data about how Jewish leaders think about the future.
