Massachusetts premiere. In 1986, former UN Secretary General Kurt Waldheim, a suspected Nazi, was making his bid for the Austrian presidency. “The Waldheim Waltz” reveals the incredibly swift succession of allegations against Waldheim, followed by denial, an outbreak of anti-Semitism and patriotism, and finally, Waldheim’s election. Set in the the larger international political context, the film is unnervingly timely.

Screening as part of the Cummings Social Justice Film Series.
