Join us for our October Tzedek Salon on the current climate of reproductive health, rights, and justice with Dr. Jennifer Childs-Roshak, President and CEO of Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts and President of the Planned Parenthood Advocacy Fund of Massachusetts.

We’ve just marked the fortieth year anniversary of the passage of the Hyde Amendment, which denies coverage of abortion care for patients who rely on Medicaid and disproportionately impacts low-income individuals. This is just one example of the many discriminatory hurdles that still exist for those seeking reproductive health care. Join us and the Planned Parenthood Advocacy Fund of Massachusetts to learn about the current national climate on reproductive health and rights and what the Advocacy Fund is doing locally to turn Massachusetts into a national leader on these issues.

We are thrilled to partner with the Planned Parenthood Advocacy Fund of Massachusetts on this event!

Space is wheelchair accessible. Light snacks will be provided. For all other accessibility needs and questions, contact hannah.jalsa@gmail.com.

About the speaker:
As President and CEO of Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts, Dr. Childs-Roshak leads the largest freestanding reproductive health care provider and advocate in the Commonwealth. Dr. Childs-Roshak also serves as the President of the Planned Parenthood Advocacy Fund of Massachusetts, the advocacy and political arm of PPLM. Dr. Childs-Roshak is the first physician to lead these organizations in their history.
Prior to joining PPLM in November 2015, Dr. Childs-Roshak served as the Boston Regional Medical Director for Atrius Health while personally caring for 1,000 patients as a primary care physician. She also served as the Site Medical Director of the Kenmore practice.

Dr. Childs-Roshak’s interest in sexual and reproductive health care dates back to her time as a new Harvard graduate working as an editor at the United Nations Fund for Populations Activities. Dr. Childs-Roshak has also served as a faculty physician at the Maine Medical Center family medicine, the UMass family medicine, and most recently the Brigham and Women’s internal medicine resident training programs. Complementing her medical degree, Dr. Childs-Roshak holds a Masters of Business Administration from the Boston University School of Management. Dr. Childs-Roshak and her husband, Phillip Roshak, CPA, have two grown sons and live in Boston.
