Kitchen Kibitz will be hosting our next event in the Met Back Bay Townhouse for a special Rosh Hashanah (Jewish New Year) pop-up dinner, “Land of Milk and Honey.” The event will be a prix fixe dinner in a communal setting exploring some of the mystical Mizrachi Jewish cuisine of Middle East, specifically the small community of Yemen. The guest chef for the evening will be Geoff Lukas of Sofra Bakery.

Making it an extra sweet new year, the menu will reflect traditional ingredients of honey, pomegranates and fenugreek, with large trays to share and plenty of entertainment throughout the night, including belly dancing performances.

About Chef Geoff Lukas:
Chef Geoff Lukas began exploring his love of cooking by enrolling in the Culinary Arts program at the Art Institute of Philadelphia. Lukas’ career has taken him to Tinto Wine Bar and Zahav in Philadelphia, and Michelin-starred The Fat Duck in Bray, UK. Through his culinary experience and many travels, Geoff has experienced the nuance of cuisine around the world and brings his talents to the Sofra Bakery & Café kitchen as the Chef de Cuisine. Now Geoff is working to understand the roll of fermentation in the various Middle Eastern cuisines, their subtlety, and their composition in a restaurant setting.
