Temple Emmanuel of Wakefield invites the community to a special bagels and book talk with Irene Stern Frielich. Her book is “Shattered Stars, Healing Hearts: Unraveling My Father’s Holocaust Survival Story.”
Author Irene Stern Frielich shares the inspirational story of her family’s escape from Germany on Kristallnacht in 1938. Irene’s father was 12 years old when they fled their home and crossed the border to the Netherlands. Her book retraces the Stern-Herzfeld family’s steps to freedom.
Join us for an engaging multimedia presentation where Irene chronicles her family’s journey from 1938-1945. Irene shares excerpts from her father’s testimonial, where he finally shares the dramatic experiences of the war. Irene describes three transformational trips to Germany and Holland she made with her own family in 2018-19. She is deeply grateful to the 18 courageous individuals who helped her family survive the Holocaust. “Shattered Stars, Healing Hearts” offers a message of hope, peace and caution for the world in which we live today.
The presentation will be followed by an opportunity for Q&A and a book signing.
