Why is the experience of remembering those we have lost part of Yom Kippur? For centuries, Jews have included the powerful Yizkor memorial service as part of our High Holiday prayers. Jewish teachings hold that when Yizkor is recited, the veil between the living and the dead is lifted; our loved ones are close and listening.

There is a deeper meaning to Yizkor, and why it is part of our Yom Kippur liturgy. Join us in this touchpoint to Yizkor as we explore this opportunity for remembering and connecting in community.

We will use guided meditation, writing and discussion to deepen the intentionality that Yizkor holds. Expect an experiential-rich evening together, and know that you will not need to share unless you choose to do so. Bring a small candle and your favorite pen and paper. This workshop is intended for anyone who has lost anyone dear to them. Anyone.

No previous experience with formal prayer service or knowledge of Hebrew required. This will be accessible to all.
