Please join us as we observe Domestic Violence Awareness Month with a Shabbat service and program that will focus on recognizing the warning signs of domestic abuse among our teens and young adults and on empowering them to seek assistance early and see that they are not alone.
We will be joined by guest speakers Julie Youdovin, outreach and program coordinator for the Journey to Safety program of Jewish Family & Children’s Service, and Lauren Nackel, community engagement specialist with REACH Beyond Domestic Violence. We are also fortunate that our own B’nai Torah member, Susan Pettit, a founder and leader of the Sudbury-Wayland-Lincoln Domestic Violence Roundtable, will join us. All of these individuals and organizations work confidentially to carefully assist numerous victims of domestic violence to remove themselves from cycles of violence and, in the best circumstances, begin their lives anew.
