Explore the role and impact of contemporary illustration through the lens of four acclaimed Israeli artists whose work exemplifies the power of this medium within Israeli art, culture, and society. In each session of this four session monthly course, you will be meet a different Israeli illustrator who has mastered the art of visual storytelling for adult audiences. Led by Orna Granot, curator, researcher, and lecturer on illustration for the Israel Museum, sessions will include a combination of conversation with the artist, a presentation of their work, and class discussion. Learn about each artist’s process, and journey, revealing to us the full potential of illustration as a form of art: poetic, political and very personal. Featured illustrators include David Polonsky, Rutu Modan, Michel Kishka, Merav Salomon. The four session dates are March 12, April 2, May 7, June 11.
