Explore Your Creative Side with Eser, Young Adult Learning Series!

November 2, 2015 $95.00

Eser is excited to introduce an innovative new learning opportunity this fall! Expressing Our Book: Creative Approaches to Jewish Text Study will take you on a trip back in time to explore the iconic people and events of the Bible through interactive sessions and small group discussion.

The course will consist of two tracks: bibliodrama and creative writing. No prior experience in drama or creative writing is necessary, just a willingness to explore!

Bible Improv Track
Tuesdays, 7-9 p.m.
Brighton, Mass.
What better way to understand, analyze and empathize with biblical characters than by stepping into their shoes? Bring the stories of our ancestors to life by turning scripture into script in this dynamic new experience of text study. Through the tools of theater and improvisation, we will fill in the gaps of the biblical narrative and consider new perspectives. Each session will dive into selected Jewish text through various interactive exercises. No previous experience necessary, just a willingness to explore!

Creative Writing Track
Mondays, 7-9 p.m.
Newton, Mass.
Join us on a 2,000-year journey back in time to meet our ancestors. While we joyfully dance with Miriam at the parting of the Red Sea, endure a bumpy ride in the belly of a whale with Jonah, and follow Moses’ sandals through the desert, we will find powerful connections to our lives today. After reading and discussing our protagonists’ stories, we will reflect on and share our own through the use of creative writing exercises. No prior writing experience is needed.
