“From Rabbi to Trans Activist” With Abby Stein

Abby Stein, Jewish educator, activist, writer and speaker, was born a male and raised in a Hasidic family of rabbinic descent, the 10th generation of the Baal Shem Tov. Abby attended yeshiva and completed a rabbinic degree in 2011. In 2012 she left that world. In 2015 Abby came out as a woman of trans experience.

Abby now works to raise support and awareness for trans rights and those leaving ultra-Orthodoxy. Her story has been covered in a multitude of news media, as well as numerous live appearances in this country and internationally.

The presentation will be translated into Mandarin and Russian.
