Join Sasha Berenstein and rosza daniel lang/levitsky through a guided tour of the ongoing Trans Yiddish Lexicon project, with time reserved for feedback and suggestions on the project. We will discuss the ongoing conversations in the trans Yiddish world on the ways the Yiddish language already has a place for gender-inclusion, as well as ways that the mame-loshn can be adapted in gender-expansive ways that are uniquely “yidishlekh.”
This workshop will center the lives and experience of transgender, nonbinary, and gender-nonconforming folks, though all are welcome regardless of age, ability, orientation, or gender. Familiarity with Yiddish a plus, but not required.
