Calculating your synagogue’s “bentshmark”—its carbon footprint—provides a baseline for ongoing reduction efforts. The methodology is straightforward; all it takes is this webinar and two to three hours of concentration.

Surprisingly few congregations have taken this basic step, and it’s the foundation of making important progress in your organization. We all need to be onboard by the start of the next shmita cycle. Learn the process that is central to substantial carbon reduction. It is not beyond you! Be the mensch to get it done.

We’ll be using the newly-overhauled bentshmarking spreadsheet “MIPL-JCAN Carbon Calculator for Houses of Worship.” Led by Fred Davis. Contact fdavis@tiac.net to get the materials in advance.
