Join us for the Boston Synagogue Klezmer Jam kick-off party on Oct. 17, followed by klezmer jams each month.
5:30-6:30 p.m.: Slow Jam
We’ll learn tunes together by ear, building a shared repertoire. All levels welcome! Each meeting will focus on a different great klezmer player—this week we will learn tunes from the one and only Naftule Brandwein.
7-9 p.m.: Tikhl Tanz! with the Boston Synagogue House Band
Bring your dancing feet! We’ll play a freylekh set of upbeat klezmer music and dance with tikhls (kerchiefs). Come to dance, listen, connect with community and meet new friends. Musicians are encouraged to join the band and play along! Light food and drink will be served on the outdoor back patio. (This portion will also be available through Zoom).
COVID-19 policy: We are requiring proof of vaccination and mask-wearing at all times. At this time, wind/brass instruments will, unfortunately, not be permitted. All participants and attendees are required to check in at the welcome table for contact tracing and vaccine verification. Masks will be required. The synagogue is equipped with a HEPA filter and an outdoor patio.+ More... - Less...
