Join Congregation B’nai Torah’s Rabbi Lisa Eiduson and Congregation B’nai Shalom’s Rabbi Joe Eiduson online for Shabbat as we lift our voices in shared humanity and recommit ourselves to continuing to work for freedom and peace.

We are relieved and grateful for the outcome of the synagogue tragedy in Colleyville, Texas, on Saturday. Like our synagogues, Congregation Beth Israel was designed to be a place of prayer and community for all people. We are grateful to the public safety professionals in Colleyville who saved the lives of the innocent and in our own area who have reached out to voice their support of us.

The traditional prayer that is part of Jewish daily worship especially resonates at this time: Baruch Atah Adonai, Eloheinu Melekh ha’olam, mattir asurim: “We thank You, Eternal One, Source of the universe, who sets free the captive.”
