In this five-week virtual course, we will read ancient and modern stories of biblical characters, imagine what drove them and use writing prompts to reflect on how their challenges mirror our own. The writing prompts will give us opportunities to reimagine biblical stories through fiction or poetry, and to journal about our own experiences. We will focus on characters who struggled with resilience after devastating setbacks: the ones who despaired, the ones who fought and the ones who found reasons to celebrate and ways to keep going.

Each hour-long session will be focused on reading and writing together, but the facilitator will also be available for 30 minutes after each session for those who want to discuss the craft of writing.
