The Leventhal-Sidman Jewish Community Center (333 Nahanton Street) in Newton will offer two, seven-week Pilates classes on Thursday mornings, beginning June 30. Men’s Pilates (8:30-9:20am) is beneficial for men whose workouts typically emphasize a part-by-part approach to muscular development. Participants will learn to increase flexibility in a way that is relevant for men working toward functional fitness. Pilates on the Ball (10:45-11:45am) is a full body workout that builds core strength, balance and coordination while increasing flexibility. Using large Swiss balls, bands and weights, participants will engage in a variety of demanding and fun movements based on Pilates and weight lifting exercises. The classes are open to all. Cost for each class is $147. Register at www.bostonjcc.org/register. For more information, contact 617-558-6459 or fitness@jccgb.org.
