Please join CJP and Women’s Philanthropy for this year’s WORDS: Women Organizing, Reading, Discussing, and Socializing!

Together, we’ll enjoy good books and fun conversation on cozy winter nights. And don’t worry about any of the planning—let us play matchmaker, and we’ll place you in a group at a convenient location full of potential friends.

Each book group will read Jenna Blum’s historical fiction novels “The Lost Family” and “Those Who Save Us.” We’ll prepare volunteer leaders to guide you in meaningful conversations about the books and how they relate to Judaism and our Jewish community—locally and around the world.

The small groups will meet twice at the homes of volunteers throughout the community; then, Jenna will join us in person for a celebratory reception and author discussion.

Don’t miss this chance to build new relationships, read some page-turners, and explore more about your own Jewish journey through engaging conversation.

2020 WORDS schedule:

  • Tuesday, Jan. 28: Session No. 1 – “Those Who Save Us”
  • Wednesday, Feb. 26: Session No. 2 – “The Lost Family”
  • Monday, March 30: Session No. 3 – Reception with Jenna Blum at The Showcase Superlux at The Street in Chestnut Hill

Book club locations may include Boston, Greater Boston suburbs, and the North Shore, based on participant registration.
