A Journey Through Pirkei Avot: Character Building for Modern Times with Rabbi YD Schwartz

Open to men and women.

Many of us have read sections or the entirety of Pirkei Avot, but haven’t taken the time to ask our own questions, find personally meaningful answers, and practical progressive approaches to such a classic text. Together we will delve into a methodology of engaging analysis which will help to reveal the core topics of each mishnah. We’ll use commentaries and other source material to elucidate and clarify deeper angles into the mishnah and bringing that Torah into our daily lives.

Rabbi YD Schwartz was brought up in sunny Southern California, attended UCLA where he studied English, Psychology and Astrophysics. After graduating, he made his way to Israel where after several years of yeshiva study he met his wife Chava. He received two semichas from Rabbi Zalman Nechemiyah Goldberg of Jerusalem. In the fall of 2015 Rabbi Schwartz and his wife became the OU-JLIC educators at Boston University.
