The history of Miriam, the prophetess who speaks enviously of her brother, Moses, offers an intimate glimpse of the tensions between brother and sister, both leaders, both prophets. Midrashic material will illuminate this mysterious relationship.

Dr. Avivah Gottlieb Zornberg holds a B.A. and Ph.D. in English literature from Cambridge University. For the past 35 years, she has taught Torah in Jerusalem at MaTan, Yakar, Pardes and the Jerusalem College for Adults. Dr. Zornberg also holds a visiting lectureship at the London School of Jewish Studies. She travels widely, lecturing in Jewish, academic and psychoanalytic settings.

This evening is being co-sponsored by Congregation Beth El-Atereth Israel.
