We invite choral singers of all levels to join members of the Zamir Chorale of Boston and pianist Edwin Swanborn, under the direction of professor Joshua Jacobson, as we come together to sing some of the favorite choruses from George Frideric Handel’s “Judas Maccabaeus,” including “Hallelujah, Amen” and “See the Conquering Hero.” Bring your own score or use one of ours.

George Frideric Handel (1685-1759) is best known to the general public today as the composer of “Messiah,” one of the greatest and most popular oratorios of all time. Five years after “Messiah,” in the summer of 1746, Handel began to compose a more dramatic oratorio, based on the biblical apocrypha, “Judas Maccabaeus.”

This program provides those who love singing an opportunity to spend nearly two hours singing with and/or listening to members of the preeminent Zamir Chorale of Boston, under the direction of Josh Jacobson, perhaps the world’s foremost authority on the topic of Jewish music.
