Young professionals, join us for happy hour! Enjoy music, our beautiful Beacon Hill patio, great food, friends, and a tour of our exhibits. This season, we have two new exhibits to explore: “American Chutzpah” by Steve Marcus and “Echoes of Home” by Inna Zhukovsky Zilber.
“American Chutzpah,” created by Steve Marcus specially for The Vilna in celebration of America’s 250th year, was inspired by Jewish contributions, moments, and folk tales in American history. Marcus’ hand-drawn works of art on paper are celebrations that comically illustrate some of the great Jewish American moments that shaped American culture, its democratic principles, and spirit.
“Echoes of Home,” a site-specific exhibition made by Inna Zhukovsky Zilber, brings you on a journey through Jewish memory. Explore identity, cultural memory, and the feeling of belonging through ceramics, textiles, watercolor, and sculpture with found objects. Follow the artist’s journey — born in Vilnius, Lithuania, raised in Israel, now based in the Greater Boston area — and the universal questions of displacement, discovery, and home that come with it.
