Whether you have questions on Judaism that interfere with you having a meaningful relationship with your tradition and/or faith, or if you would like to explore meaningful discussion and a new perspective on some of Judaism’s most important questions, this course is the perfect fit. Join us for six Tuesdays starting Oct. 23.
Drawing upon 3,000 years of Jewish knowledge, as well as a storehouse of literary, psychological and theological insights, the course examines the fears and doubts that challenge us.
The course tackles important questions:
- How do we reconcile compelling evidence for evolution and the age of universe with a Bible that tells a different story?
- Why do we need God and religion if we can live perfectly well without Him?
- Does God really care about the nuances of Jewish practice?
- Is the concept of “Jewish chosen-ness” racist? Does Judaism impose gender roles and interfere with our relationship choices?
- How can we relate to a loving and caring God while experiencing tragedy and suffering?
- Is it even possible to develop a relationship with a God we cannot see?
But perhaps more important, it helps us find our own rhythm within which to walk that path.
In “Wrestling with Faith,” we acknowledge the often unspoken doubts and questions that all people share as we share their invitation for us to dig deeper for the answers.
